Physician's Testimony by Nancy Ferguson

The victim is 19 year old Mayella Ewell. She is claiming to being raped and beaten by Tom Robinson. She was found with bruising on and around her arms and head. She also had finger marks around her neck, the imprints of someone strangling her. Mayella had a black eye under her right eye. For it to be under her right eye, the victim was most likely hit by someone who is left handed.  In Tom Robinson’s testimony, he explained how Mayella had informed him that, “she’d never kissed a grown man. What her daddy did to her didn’t count”, this leads us to believe that Mr. Ewell may have been sexually assaulting his daughter. In Tom/s testimony, he went on to say that he had to push her off of him, because she was insistent of kissing him, she might have bruising along her sides.
